Job Full Description
The Bookkeeper develops the system to account for financial transactions by
establishing a chart of accounts, as well as stipulate bookkeeping policies and
procedures. They record financial transactions and post debits/credits. They also
produce financial statements, generate reports.
The Bookkeeper should be able to complete the following:
General Duties
• Verify, allocate, and post details of financial transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files
• Summarize details on separate ledgers or computer files and transfer data to the general ledger
• Reconcile and balance accounts. Prepare checks, payments, and bank deposits
• Compile reports to show financial data including cash receipts and expenditures, accounts receivable and payable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to business operations
• Calculate employee wages and prepare checks for payroll
• Calculate and prepare tax statements
• Maintain internal control systems and track inventory records
• Prepare financial statements including trial balance, income, and balance sheet
• Maintain a complete filing system to support financial records
