Full time – Temp to hire
Monday thru Friday – 8am to 5pm
$85k to $90k a year depending on experience.
An innovative company providing supply chain solutions to the aerospace industry with 100,000+ unique parts in stock from over 2,500 suppliers with customers that include almost every manor aerospace and defense OEM along with many of their subcontractors is seeking a Principal Buyer to join their team in Chatsworth.
Summary: As a Principal Buyer, you will play a key role in managing complex procurement operations, supplier relationships, and strategic sourcing initiatives. You’ll leverage cutting-edge tools and analytics to make high-impact decisions that directly influence quality, cost, and delivery performance across our global supply chain. This role blends data-driven decision making with strategic supplier management, perfect for a professional who thrives at the intersection of analysis, negotiation, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Procurement Operations: Manage full purchasing lifecycle within SAP, ensuring PO compliance, supplier accuracy, and lifecycle visibility.
- Drive Supplier Performance: Conduct data-backed business reviews, implement corrective actions, and foster continuous improvement.
- Analyze & Optimize: Use Power BI and Excel dashboards to perform cost modeling, variance analysis, and supplier scorecarding.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Planning, Quality, and Sales to ensure seamless alignment between demand, supply, and customer commitments.
- Mentor & Influence: Serve as a trusted resource to Buyers, modeling excellence in data analysis, negotiation, and supplier engagement.
- Ensure Impact & Safety: Every decision you make supports global flight reliability and passenger safety.

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive purchasing experience.
- 3+ years in analytical or senior-level procurement roles.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in complex purchasing or supplier management strongly considered.
- Expert-level experience with SAP or comparable ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills (pivot tables, dashboards, trend analysis).
- Proven success managing supplier performance and corrective actions.
- Exceptional attention to detail—accuracy is your brand.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Analytical mindset with operational judgment; you can see the story behind the data.
