Junior CAD / Packaging Assistant
Van Nuys, CA
Full time - Temp to hire
Monday through Friday – 7am to 4pm
$20hr to $22hr depending on experience.

Summary: We are seeking a Junior CAD / Packaging Assistant to support our growing production and prototyping team. This is a hands-on, entry-level role ideal for someone with foundational CAD knowledge who is eager to learn packaging, tooling, and shop-based production processes. The role blends technical CAD work with physical prototyping, machine operation, and day-to-day shop and warehouse support.
Responsibilities:
- Operate production and finishing equipment, including machines such as the YAWA Model TYMB 1040. (training provided as needed)
- Create and edit CAD tables, dielines, and layouts for packaging and display components
- Assist with finishing details, mockups, and light tooling work
- Support prototype development and pre-production preparation
- Help with daily shop tasks, sample builds, and production support
- Provide warehouse assistance, including constructing shippers, pack-outs, and product handling as required
Qualifications:
- Basic CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD, or similar)
- Some exposure to packaging, production, or fabrication through school, internships, or prior work experience.
- Willingness to be hands-on and learn new tools, machines, and processes.
- Reliable, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to follow direction.
- Focused and well-suited for a junior-level role. (not over-qualified)
- Experience in packaging, print, or display production.
- Adobe Illustrator experience.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new processes, including foil stamping and YAWA equipment operation.
