Job Title: Contract Accountant / Accounting Specialist

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Contract Accountant to support the daily accounting operations of a busy HVAC company. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting experience, excellent Excel skills, and hands-on experience using JobBoss software. The ideal candidate will be organized, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

Prepare invoices, billing statements, and customer account updates

Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger entries

Enter and maintain accurate financial data in JobBoss software

Create reports, spreadsheets, and tracking logs using Microsoft Excel

Assist with payroll support and timecard verification as needed

Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on collections

Maintain organized accounting records and filing systems

Support month-end close and reporting processes

Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal staff
Qualifications

Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience required

Experience with JobBoss software required or strongly preferred

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, spreadsheets, reporting)

Knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

HVAC, construction, or service industry experience is a plus
