Express Employment Professionals – Centennial/Castle Rock is hiring a Maintenance and Automation Technician for a growing manufacturing company specializing in high-precision parts for the automotive, medical device, telecommunications, renewable energy, and industrial sectors. The facility supports advanced production methods, including injection molding and thermoforming.

 

As a Maintenance and Automation Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing equipment and automated systems across the production floor. You’ll work with a variety of technologies including PLCs, robotics, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and stepper/servo motors to keep production running at peak performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install and set up production and automation equipment (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo/stepper motor systems)
  • Integrate systems such as PLCs, HMIs, robotic controllers, and drives
  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors on system setup and configuration

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in controls and motor systems
  • Minimize downtime by implementing proactive solutions

Programming & Optimization

  • Program and fine-tune PLCs, HMIs, servo/stepper motor controllers
  • Optimize systems for efficiency, quality, and reliability
  • Work with engineers to implement improvements

Production Support

  • Monitor equipment performance during production
  • Quickly respond to alarms, errors, or breakdowns
  • Provide technical guidance and training to operators as needed

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Track performance metrics and assist in root cause analysis
  • Participate in process improvement and reliability projects

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Ensure systems comply with regulations and internal standards
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards in automation operations

 

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required (technical certifications preferred)
  • Experience in maintenance and automation within a manufacturing environment (plastics experience a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion control systems
  • Familiarity with ladder logic or structured text programming
  • Ability to read technical schematics and diagrams
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
