A local manufacturing organization is seeking a Procurement Leader to support purchasing and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for owning procurement activities and vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing on components, materials, and services used in aerospace, electronics, and medical equipment manufacturing.
Job Highlights:
• Own procurement responsibilities and vendor relationships
• Source, purchase, and manage components, materials, and services
• Generate and manage purchase orders through ERP/MRP systems
• Ensure purchase order requirements are processed accurately and on time
• Process vendor confirmations and approved changes
• Monitor open POs, delivery timelines, and material availability
• Proactively prevent shortages, backorders, and material delays
• Request cost estimates and negotiate pricing against standard costs
• Make recommendations on forecasts and purchasing plans
• Advise leadership on significant cost increases
• Identify new suppliers to improve performance or reduce costs
• Reconcile sales orders, invoices, and vendor purchase orders
• Communicate delivery schedules and delays with internal teams and customers
• Track KPIs aligned with operational goals
• Perform additional duties as assigned
What we look for:
• Strong understanding of MRP systems
• Experience with ERP/MRP purchasing processes
• Vendor negotiation and relationship management skills
• Component sourcing experience
• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Outlook, and Word
• High attention to detail
• Team-oriented mindset
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2–4 years of purchasing experience, preferably in electronics
• Contract manufacturing experience preferred
Physical & Safety Requirements:
• Moderate standing, walking, and sitting
• Continuous fine finger movements
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Ability to follow safety policies and report unsafe conditions or incidents
