Prep Cook – Industrial Kitchen 

📍 Colorado Springs, CO 

💰 $18.50/hour 

🕒 Tuesday–Saturday | 12:30pm – 9:00pm 

About the Opportunity 

Express Employment is seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join a high-volume industrial kitchen team. This is a hands-on position that offers consistent hours and long-term stability. 

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced food production environment, staying active throughout the day, and contributing to a team that prepares quality meals and food products, this could be a great fit. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and prepare ingredients for food production 

• Measure, portion, and organize ingredients according to recipes and production schedules 

• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with meal preparation and assembly 

• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift 

• Properly label, date, and store food products following food safety standards 

• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, food processors, and other commercial equipment 

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures 

• Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating inventory using FIFO practices 

• Support other kitchen and food production operations as needed 

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift 

• Frequently lift, carry, and move ingredients, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. 

• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive food preparation tasks 

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment 

• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot kitchen areas, coolers, and freezers 

• Manual dexterity required for knife work and food preparation activities 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Previous kitchen, food service, food production, or prep cook experience preferred 

• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices 

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe Certification preferred 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
