Experienced Maintenance Technician – Apartment Communities

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $26.00/hr. - $32.00/hr. DOE
Schedule: 8:30am to 5pm with Weekend Rotation and On-Call for Emergencies
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician with experience in multifamily apartment communities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of building systems to ensure resident satisfaction, safety, and property upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, etc.
- Complete resident work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of units, common areas, and building exteriors.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks per the established schedule.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including participation in the on-call rotation.
- Prepare apartments for new residents, including painting, cleaning, and repairs (turnovers).
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, building codes, and fair housing standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inventory.
- Work collaboratively with property staff, vendors, and contractors.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in apartment or multifamily housing.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.
- EPA Certification preferred.
- CPO is a plus.
- Own and use basic tools, power equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks regularly.
