Job Summary:
The 2nd Shift Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations during the second shift, ensuring accurate and efficient handling, storage, and shipping of products. This role includes supervising team members, enforcing safety protocols, and meeting productivity goals to support overall warehouse performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise warehouse associates on the 2nd shift.
- Assign tasks and monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and inventory functions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Train, mentor, and coach warehouse team members.
- Monitor performance and report issues or recommendations to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Assist with resolving inventory discrepancies and verifying order accuracy.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely (if certified).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with other shifts, departments, and leadership to ensure smooth handoffs and operational continuity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, safety regulations, and inventory procedures.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, WMS systems).
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Requires physical labor, including lifting, bending, and operating machinery.
- Evening and/or weekend availability may be required.
