CNC Grinding Machinist | Direct Hire
Location: Berlin, CT
Pay rate: $50,000-68,000/year
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up, program, and operate grinding machines (ID/OD, surface, or cylindrical grinders)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to understand dimensions and tolerances
- Select, dress, and maintain grinding wheels and tooling
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Perform in‑process and final inspections to ensure part quality
- Document inspection results and production data accurately
- Maintain grinding machines and perform routine maintenance
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues
Qualification/Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of grinding process required
- Ability to program at machine to control grinding wheel
- Ability to dress a wheel
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T
- Skilled using precision measuring instruments to inspect own parts
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work assigned shift and overtime as needed
