Job Full Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Administrator to lead and manage the daily operations of an Assisted Living Facility (ALF), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Independent Living Facility (ILF), Retirement Home, and Hospice. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, delivering high-quality resident care, managing staff performance, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a compassionate leader with strong business acumen and a deep understanding of long-term care regulations and resident-centered services.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Compliance
- Ensure delivery of high-quality care and services that meet or exceed regulatory standards
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., AHCA, CMS, OSHA)
- Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and satisfaction initiatives
- Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and empathy
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and manage interdisciplinary teams including nursing, dietary, housekeeping, and administrative staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement staff development plans
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage scheduling to meet resident needs
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Develop and manage facility budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize revenue
- Oversee billing, collections, and reimbursement processes (Medicare, Medicaid, private pay)
- Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality
- Monitor KPIs and prepare reports for ownership or regional leadership
Facility Management & Safety
- Ensure the physical environment is safe, clean, and compliant with health codes
- Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and emergency preparedness plans
- Lead quality assurance and risk management initiatives
- Promote a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for residents, families, and staff
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, or related field
- Current state licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) or Assisted Living Administrator (as applicable)
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement systems, and resident rights
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
- Experience managing both ALF and SNF operations
- Proven success in census growth, staff retention, and quality improvement
- Familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF)
