We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technicians II to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to ophthalmologists and optometrists, ensuring that patients receive high-quality eye care. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a solid understanding of anatomy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary eye exams and gather patient medical history.
- Perform diagnostic tests including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and refraction.
- Assist with the preparation of patients for examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and post-examination instructions.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment.
- Collaborate with the medical team to provide exceptional patient care.
- Utilize retail math skills to assist in optical sales and inventory management when necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, particularly in ophthalmology or optometry.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and basic anatomy related to the eye is essential.
- Experience in retail sales or optical environments is advantageous but not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with patients of all ages are crucial for success in this role.
