Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phone Repair Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing smartphones and other mobile devices. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with hardware and software issues, a strong understanding of various phone brands and models, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair issues with smartphones, including screen replacements, battery swaps, charging ports, cameras, and other internal components.
- Troubleshoot software issues such as operating system errors, app malfunctions, and data recovery.
- Test and inspect devices to ensure full functionality before and after repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers on mobile device care and maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workbench and tools.
- Follow company policies regarding ESD (electrostatic discharge) and data privacy.
- Stay current with industry trends, new devices, and repair techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus (eg, CompTIA, Apple ACiT, or Samsung certifications).
- 1+ year of hands-on experience in phone or electronics repair.
- Proficiency in repairing iOS and Android devices.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repairs simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with tablets and other mobile electronics.
- Knowledge of liquid damage diagnostics and micro-soldering (a plus, but not required).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
