Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Architect to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the development of outdoor spaces that are functional, sustainable, and visually compelling. Projects may include parks, campuses, residential communities, commercial developments, and public infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop site plans, landscape designs, and construction documents using CAD and other design software
- Conduct site analysis, including soil, climate, and existing vegetation assessments
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and urban planners to integrate landscape elements into broader project goals
- Select appropriate plant materials, hardscape features, and sustainable design solutions
- Prepare cost estimates, project timelines, and presentations for stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes
- Oversee installation and construction phases to ensure design intent is realized
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
- Professional licensure (or eligibility) as a Landscape Architect (e.g., LARE certification)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, GIS, and other design tools
- Strong understanding of horticulture, grading, drainage, and site engineering
- Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LEED-certified or sustainable design projects
- Familiarity with local permitting processes and environmental impact assessments
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Portfolio showcasing a range of design styles and project types
