Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist (4-month contract) Summary:
Are you someone who enjoys solving problems, helping customers, and keeping accounts on track? We are seeking an Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to support member accounts while providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive relationships.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in collections, accounts receivable, billing, or customer account management who enjoys balancing analytical work with customer interaction.
What You'll Do
- Review member accounts and monitor outstanding balances
- Contact members regarding past-due accounts and payment options
- Process payments and maintain accurate account records
- Assist with deposit administration and account maintenance
- Track payment activity and follow up on delinquent accounts
- Resolve routine account issues and answer billing inquiries
- Document account activity and maintain detailed records
- Support collection efforts while delivering a positive member experience
- Follow company policies, payment terms, and regulatory requirements
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, billing, customer service, or related experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Comfortable discussing payment options and resolving account concerns
- Basic computer and data entry skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience in the utility industry, electric cooperative, municipal utility, or similar environment
- Previous experience managing customer accounts and payment arrangements
