Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and compassionate Immigration Paralegal to join our dedicated legal team. Under the direct supervision of an attorney, the Immigration Paralegal will play a crucial role in assisting clients with various immigration matters, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of legal documents, and providing administrative support to advance our mission. This position requires a strong commitment to social justice, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support:

    • Conduct initial client interviews to gather information and assess needs.

    • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case status and explaining complex legal processes in an accessible manner.

    • Assist clients in gathering necessary supporting documents for their cases.

    • Prepare clients for interviews with immigration officials.

  • Case Management & Document Preparation:

    • Prepare, review, and file various immigration applications, petitions, and forms (e.g., Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, DACA, Asylum applications, family-based petitions, employment authorization, travel documents, removal defense filings).

    • Draft legal correspondence, affidavits, and other supporting documents for attorney review.

    • Organize and maintain comprehensive client files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Legal Research & Support:

    • Conduct legal research on immigration laws, policies, and procedures as directed by attorneys.

    • Assist attorneys in preparing for court hearings, client meetings, and presentations.

    • Translate documents and provide interpretation services as needed.

  • Administrative Support:

    • Schedule appointments and manage attorney calendars.

    • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries as appropriate.

    • Perform general administrative and clerical duties as required to support the legal team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an Immigration Paralegal (1 year minimum)
  • Spanish is required for this position, english as well but not fluent
