Job Summary:

The Cabinet Finisher prepares, stains, paints, and seals cabinets and wood furniture surfaces. This role ensures all products meet quality standards for appearance, durability, and finish consistency. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, knowledge of wood finishing techniques, and the ability to work with various tools and chemicals in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by sanding, cleaning, and filling as necessary.

  • Mix and apply stains, sealers, lacquers, varnishes, and paints using spray guns, brushes, or rags.

  • Match and mix colors and finishes to customer specifications or samples.

  • Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.

  • Maintain finishing equipment and work area to ensure cleanliness and safety.

  • Follow production schedules and meet deadlines.

  • Collaborate with cabinet makers and other production team members.

  • Apply touch-ups and repairs as needed.

  • Adhere to company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training a plus).

  • 1+ years of experience in cabinet finishing or wood finishing (spray booth experience preferred).

  • Proficient in using spray guns, hand tools, and finishing materials.

  • Understanding of different wood types and their finishing needs.

  • Good eye for detail, color matching, and surface imperfections.

  • Ability to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs) and stand for extended periods.

  • Familiarity with reading work orders and finish schedules.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with custom cabinetry or furniture.

  • Knowledge of HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray systems.

  • Experience with water-based and solvent-based finishes.


Working Conditions:

  • Indoor workshop or manufacturing floor.

  • Exposure to fumes, dust, and loud noises (PPE provided).

  • Standing, bending, and lifting for most of the workday.
