We are partnered with a Public Accounting firm in Downtown Sarasota hiring for a Tax Manager. Our client is a well-established 40-year-old, single site, boutique public accounting firm in the heart of downtown Sarasota. They continue to grow and are looking for a Tax Manager to join their firm. There are definite career growth opportunities including, in time, into a shareholder. Their clients are a reflection of the community; hi-net worth individuals, trust and estates, partnerships, S-corps, manufacturers, real estate, medical/healthcare and other business entities. While busy during tax season, they offer a more relaxed and less stressful environment than some of the larger public accounting firms. They are interested in meeting candidates that will be hands-on, review staff work, offer guidance and advice, and interact with clients. Expectations:
• Strong experience with preparation and review of Corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns are a must.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid time management skills.
• Trust and Estate accounting & tax return experience a plus.
• Deliver professional services to clients, including consulting, tax planning and compliance.
• Research and consult on complex tax issues.
• Manage multiple client engagements.
• Strong computer skills.
• Coach and mentor staff.
• Contribute to the continued development and improvement of tax processes and procedures.
Qualifications for this position include:
• CPA certification
• 7 - 10 years accounting firm tax experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Experience with individual & business returns with a strong understanding of accounting & trial balance entries.
• Possess analytical, critical thinking, time management and decision-making skills
• Experienced with Ultra Tax & Lacerte a plus
• Compilation and review experience a plus
