We are working with an established and fast-growing precision machining business serving the Aerospace, Energy, and other industrial manufacturing sectors. The company has grown over 500% in the past 5 years and is positioned for continued success. Known for its outstanding reputation as a high-quality supplier, the firm operates a comprehensive Quality Management System and consistently performs well in annual audits and customer surveys.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Control Manager to lead and further enhance our Quality Program. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic insight and a collaborative, action-oriented approach — someone who enjoys working closely with engineers, machinists, and customer quality teams, not just behind a desk.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Lead and drive the company’s Quality Program, ensuring full compliance with AS9100D / ISO 9001 standards and aligning quality initiatives with overall business growth objectives.
-
Develop, implement, and optimize process improvements to mitigate risks, enhance efficiency, and maintain accurate and audit-ready quality documentation.
-
Plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external audits, including ISO/AS audits; prepare audit materials, train staff, and champion a culture of audit readiness across the organization.
-
Conduct and oversee in-process and final product inspections utilizing both manual and automated tools; manage and perform necessary repair or rework activities to ensure quality standards are met.
-
Manage and strengthen supplier quality processes by conducting audits, monitoring compliance, and partnering with suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
-
Prepare and complete First Article Inspections with full documentation; ensure that all quality documentation fully supports customer and regulatory requirements.
-
Identify, analyze, and resolve product and process non-conformances; lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions while providing actionable reports to management.
-
Mentor, coach, and train employees on quality standards, proper procedures, and best practices to build a proactive, quality-focused culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
-
Passion for delivering quality in a manufacturing environment.
-
10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years leading a Quality Program in a manufacturing setting (ISO/AS certified facility). Candidates with less than 5 years of leadership experience but strong ISO/AS implementation expertise will also be considered.
-
Preference for candidates from an aerospace/aviation manufacturing background.
-
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
-
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
-
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
-
Quality certifications from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)—such as CMQ/OE, CQPA, CQE, CQA—are a plus but not required.
Company Profile:
We are an ISO- and AS-certified precision machine shop based in the Sarasota area, manufacturing high-compliance aerospace components. Our firm has built a stellar reputation in the highly regulated aerospace sector by delivering precision and quality consistently. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to contribute to a growing, forward-thinking organization with a strong commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
