Our client is a well-established local company providing specialized commercial services. They are committed to keeping their vehicles and equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable, experienced Mechanic to join the team. This individual will perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of gas and diesel vehicles and related equipment, including hydraulic systems.
This role does not require you to be a diesel specialist, but you should have at least basic working knowledge of diesel engines and be comfortable performing general repairs on both gas and diesel-powered equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on gas and diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
• Troubleshoot and replace hydraulic lines, fittings, and related components.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Communicate effectively with the operations team to prioritize repairs.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a general vehicle or equipment mechanic preferred.
• Basic working knowledge of diesel engines and systems is required.
• Experience with hydraulic systems is strongly preferred.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Must have a valid, clean Florida driver’s license that is commercially insurable.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
• Own tools are preferred but not required — company tools are available.
Pay & Schedule:
• Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Schedule: Full-time, steady hours
• Eligible for a sign-on and/or retention bonus, to be determined based on skills and experience
