Job Full Description
We are partnered with a customer furniture and upholstery company seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholsterer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in traditional and modern upholstery techniques and a strong eye for detail. As an upholsterer, you will work with a variety of materials and furniture styles to deliver top-quality finished products that exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reupholster and upholster furniture including chairs, sofas, cushions, headboards, bankettes, and other items.
- Strip furniture down to the frame and inspect/repair structural components as needed.
- Cut, measure, and sew fabrics using both hand tools and industrial sewing machines.
- Install padding, springs, webbing, and fabric with precision and care.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to select materials and design solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to company standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional upholstery experience (custom or residential).
- Strong knowledge of upholstery tools, materials, and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and design plans.
- Skilled in fabric cutting, pattern matching, and sewing.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and work with heavy furniture and materials.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship.
- Basic carpentry and furniture construction skills, including building frames or components from plywood.
- Ability to perform rough carpentry tasks such as cutting, assembling, and repairing wooden frames.
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, full time
Pay Rate: $24/hour
