Job Full Description
The Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and store environment. This position supports daily operations by performing general cleaning duties, removing trash, maintaining restrooms, and assisting with moving and staging furniture as needed. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team, and contributes to creating an excellent customer and employee environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, showroom, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and break rooms daily.
- Assist warehouse and sales teams with moving, lifting, and positioning furniture and accessories.
- Help receive, unpack, and prepare merchandise for display or delivery.
- Ensure safe handling and movement of furniture to prevent damage.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment; notify management when replenishment is needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and report any hazards or maintenance needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or warehouse experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move furniture and materials up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings if required.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 8:30 AM - 5 PM
Pay Rate: $16/hour
