Our client is an award winning, boutique commercial architectural design studio that also does some high end residential work. They were the recipient of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) three highest Honor Awards in 2025.
Position Overview
They are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Project Architect to join our team. This role blends architectural design excellence, project management leadership, and proactive community engagement. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and people-oriented, someone who can lead projects from concept through completion while also representing the firm externally by building relationships within the local business and professional community.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design
- Lead and contribute to architectural design across all project phases, from conceptual design through construction documentation.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and presentation materials in accordance with firm standards and applicable codes.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop innovative, functional, and cost-effective design solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Management
- Manage architectural projects including scope, schedule, budget, and coordination with consultants and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring clear communication with clients and team members.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, changes, and challenges.
- Support construction administration activities, including site visits, RFIs, and submittal reviews.
Community Engagement & Networking
- Act as a key ambassador for the firm within the local community.
- Actively participate in and represent the firm at local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, professional associations, and industry-related groups.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Identify networking, marketing, and business development opportunities that align with the firm’s strategic goals.
- Share market insights and relationship opportunities internally to support firm growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Architecture license is not required but preferred.
- 4 + years of professional experience in architectural design and project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable representing the firm publicly and engaging in relationship-building activities.
- Must have experience with Revit. Proficiency in other relevant software.
