Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for Environmental Services Technicians to join a healthcare facility in Sarasota. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
This is a physically demanding overnight position responsible for cleaning and disinfecting operating rooms, procedural areas, public spaces, and support areas throughout the facility.
Schedule
3rd Shift: 7:30 PM – 4:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed terminal cleaning of operating rooms and procedural areas
- Clean and disinfect surgical suites, pre-op areas, PACU areas, and support spaces
- Utilize hospital-grade germicidal cleaning solutions and specialty disinfecting equipment
- Clean and sanitize equipment, monitors, keyboards, screens, surgical lights, beds, stretchers, and furniture
- Transport and properly dispose of trash, recyclables, and biohazard materials
- Return equipment and supplies to designated locations for next-day operations
- Perform floor care duties including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and maintenance
- Clean public restrooms, locker rooms, lounges, offices, laboratories, and common areas
- Respond to emergency cleaning situations as needed
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial, environmental services, housekeeping, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety protocols
- Reliable transportation and attendance
- Ability to work in a healthcare environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift and transport cleaning equipment, supplies, and waste materials
- Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and respond to urgent cleaning needs
