A local manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Floor Manager to oversee daily operations within its Trim & Panels department. This leadership role is responsible for managing production staff, maintaining productivity, ensuring quality standards are met, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can motivate employees, maintain production schedules, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct daily production floor operations.
- Assign work and communicate production priorities to team members.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor employee performance, productivity, and attendance.
- Coach, mentor, and hold employees accountable to company expectations.
- Address performance, behavioral, and productivity concerns in a professional manner.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and safety-focused work environment.
- Communicate production issues, delays, staffing concerns, and operational needs to management.
- Ensure employees follow all safety procedures and properly utilize PPE and equipment.
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
- Work alongside production staff when necessary while maintaining supervisory responsibilities.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production facility.
- Collaborate with leadership on staffing, scheduling, and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience required.
- Previous experience leading employees in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, construction, or similar environment preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a production team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish expectations and hold employees accountable.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing operations preferred.
- Experience in metal manufacturing or roofing is a plus but not required for candidates with strong leadership experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25+ lbs.
