Accounting Manager (Path to Controller)
Location: Tampa FL 33614, Remote (Must live within ~1 hour for onsite visits as needed)
Schedule: Full-Time, 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
Salary: $100-$120K annually based on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, resourceful Accounting Manager with strong public accounting experience to help build and strengthen the financial foundation of a growing Tampa Bay company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong sense of urgency, and is excited about leveraging technology—including AI—to streamline processes.
This position offers a clear growth path into a Controller role as the company continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close

Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis for leadership

Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation

Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to manage financial data and reporting

Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management

Partner with operations teams, especially in manufacturing or food manufacturing environments

Implement and adopt AI-driven tools to improve efficiency and accuracy

Assist with audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements

Provide hands-on support across accounting functions as needed

Help build the accounting infrastructure that will support future growth
Qualifications

Public accounting experience required

CPA
-
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

Comfortable using AI tools and open to adopting new technologies

Experience in manufacturing or food manufacturing is a strong plus

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency

Highly resourceful, proactive, and hands-on

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

Must live within approximately one hour of the facility and be able to come onsite as needed
