Business Development Manager – Specialty Foods (Remote, 75% Travel)

Territories: Mid-Atlantic • Midwest • Northeast Industry: Specialty Food Manufacturing Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary:  $90K-$120K plus commission

About the Role

Our client, a leading specialty food manufacturer, is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow sales across key U.S. territories. You’ll drive new business with multi-unit restaurant groups, broadline distributors, and specialty distributors while representing two premium product lines: authentic Latino specialty foods and upscale hors d’oeuvres. This is a remote role with extensive travel and high autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow territory sales across assigned regions

  • Secure new business with multi-unit restaurant groups and food distributors

  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers

  • Present full product portfolio, including private-label capabilities

  • Manage long, complex B2B sales cycles

  • Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events

  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and account updates

Required Experience

  • Proven success in business development or outside sales

  • Experience in food manufacturing, specialty foods, or foodservice distribution preferred

  • Strong background selling to multi-unit restaurant groups and/or distributors

  • Deep understanding of foodservice distribution channels

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven

  • Ability to travel up to 75%
