Cost Accountant – Manufacturing experience preferred
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: $70,000-$75,000 annually, based on experience
Location: Tampa FL
Position Overview
The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate cost records, and supporting financial decision-making within a production environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with manufacturing accounting systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Max Exact Manufacturing Software is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities

Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and production variances.

Maintain and update standard costs, BOMs, and routing information.

Prepare cost reports, margin analysis, and financial summaries for management.

Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile discrepancies.

Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Work closely with production, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure accurate cost data.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost accounting records within ERP systems.

Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
Required Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is preferred.

Experience with Max Exact Manufacturing Software is preferred.

Manufacturing accounting experience is required.

Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and standard costing.

Proficiency in analyzing financial data and preparing detailed reports.

Strong Excel skills and comfort working with numerical data.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience in a high-volume or complex manufacturing environment.
