CNC Machine Operator / Fabricator — Job Summary
The CNC Machine Operator / Fabricator sets up, programs, and operates CNC equipment and performs hands‐on fabrication to produce precision parts to engineering specifications. This role combines machine setup and operation with manual fabrication tasks—reading blueprints, selecting tooling, performing quality checks, and making adjustments to meet tolerances and production targets. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety‐focused, and able to troubleshoot machines and processes while maintaining consistent part quality and efficient workflow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, routers, or plasma/CNC cutting systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders; verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform manual fabrication tasks: cutting, deburring, fitting, welding, and finishing as required.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges; document quality checks and corrective actions.
- Maintain tooling, fixtures, and equipment; perform routine maintenance and report issues.
- Proven experience operating CNC machines and performing general fabrication.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
- Basic programming or conversational CNC knowledge and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or on a team.
