Laser Cutting Machine Operator September 16, 2026

Day shift / 8 hours a day 5 days a week

Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation: Configure laser settings (power, speed, and focus), load cutting programs, and align raw sheet metal or materials on the cutting bed
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and follow technical drawings, work orders, CAD files, and shop travelers to determine dimensions and cut requirements.
Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify tolerances
Load and unload raw sheets and finished components using forklifts, overhead cranes, or vacuum lifts.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: High school diploma or GED, plus 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication shop.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, using shop math, and operating measuring instruments (calipers, gauges).
Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with major CNC laser brands (such as TRUMPF or Amada) is strongly preferred by employers.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and lift or maneuver materials weighing up to 50–75 lbs (often with assistance)
