Position: Dispatcher
Location: Hodgkins, IL
Pay: $20/hr
Express is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to join our logistics and operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling and dispatch of delivery drivers and service technicians to customer locations in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, service technicians, and equipment deliveries according to customer requests, specifications, and needs.
- Monitor routes and job status throughout the day to ensure on-time deliveries and service.
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery times, service appointments, and resolve issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch times, delivery schedules, driver locations, and job completion updates.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, reroute drivers when necessary, and troubleshoot delivery issues in real-time.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and operations team to verify inventory availability, order completion, and readiness for dispatch.
- Use dispatch software and communication tools to track, assign, and update job orders.
- Ensure drivers comply with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety procedures.
- Prepare and maintain daily logs, reports, and other required documentation for deliveries and services.
- Provide operational support to management and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and dispatching software.
- Familiarity with the Chicagoland area and surrounding regions is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
