Job Title: Equipment and Furniture Purchasing Assistant
Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $24/hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire | Immediate Start Available
Position Overview:
A growing company in the Cicero area is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. This full-time, temp-to-hire position is ideal for someone with purchasing experience, preferably in the restaurant industry. The right candidate will be organized, team-oriented, and looking for a long-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:

Physically check in products upon arrival to verify accuracy.

Process purchase orders and quotes from start to finish.

Assist customers, the customer service team, and the sales team with inquiries and product information.

Handle product returns and coordinate with vendors as needed.

Negotiate pricing and manage vendor relationships.

Track and maintain inventory levels to ensure proper stock levels.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and support procurement process improvements.

Collaborate closely with internal departments to meet operational needs.
Qualifications:

Prior purchasing experience is required; open to candidates from various industries, though restaurant industry experience is a strong plus.

Familiarity with restaurant equipment and/or furniture is highly desirable.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Team-oriented with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
