Saw Operator
Location: Melrose Park, IL
Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift
Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Saw Operator for a growing manufacturing and distribution facility in Melrose Park. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience working in a metal manufacturing or warehouse environment who are looking for long-term career growth.
Responsibilities:
• Operate industrial band saws and production saw equipment to accurately cut metal materials according to customer specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders to verify dimensions, quantities, and material requirements.
• Measure materials using tape measures, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
• Load, position, and secure materials prior to cutting.
• Inspect finished products to verify quality standards and dimensional accuracy.
• Assist with material handling using forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.
• Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
• Follow all company safety procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience operating industrial saws or metal cutting equipment preferred.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and interpret work orders.
• Experience working with steel, aluminum, or other metal products is highly preferred.
• Forklift experience required; overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
