Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Location: Lockport, IL 60441
Schedule: Training shift 7:00am–3:30pm, then regular shift 10:00am–6:30pm
Pay: $20.25 per hour
Employment Type: Temporary (with potential for hire after probationary hours)

About the Role Client is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to support daily warehouse operations. This role is essential in ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, SAP experience, and a solid understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
Key Responsibilities

Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing contents with manifests, invoices, and orders

Prepare shipping documents including work orders, bills of lading, and routing instructions

Determine appropriate shipping methods based on procedures, routes, and rates

Record shipment data such as weights, charges, space availability, and discrepancies

Communicate with carriers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and special instructions

Resolve issues related to damages, shortages, or nonconforming materials

Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies

Deliver or route materials to internal departments using warehouse equipment

Pack, seal, label, and prepare materials for shipment

Use SAP and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting
Required Skills and Experience

Minimum two years of experience managing shipping windows, working with drivers, and assigning inbound/outbound doors

SAP experience required

Strong verbal and written communication skills

High attention to detail and problem‑solving ability

Ability to document and record shipment and inventory information accurately

Knowledge of shipping regulations and warehouse procedures

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
