Auto Body Technician – Full-Time (Temp to Hire)
Location: Crest Hill, IL
Shop Type: Locally owned and growing auto body shop
Primary Work: Heavy fleet vehicles (Amazon Sprinter vans, FedEx box trucks) with some regular vehicle repair
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our growing team. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for a reliable technician who takes pride in quality metal and body repair work. The role focuses primarily on fleet vehicles, offering steady, consistent work with no weekends required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full start-to-finish auto body repairs
- Complete metal work, including cutting, panel replacement, and welding
- Execute body prep and filler (Bondo) work, with a preference for pulling panels and minimizing filler use
- Ensure repairs meet quality and safety standards
- Handle both fleet vehicles and some regular passenger vehicles
Requirements
- Proven experience in auto body and metal repair
- Must own personal tools
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Certifications not required (considered a plus if applicable)
- No drug screen
- No background check
Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No weekends
- Two paid 15‑minute breaks (10:00 AM & 3:00 PM)
- One unpaid 1‑hour lunch (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Compensation
$25–$40 per hour, based on experience
