Now Hiring: Production Assistant – CNC Tube Laser (2nd Shift | Temp-to-Hire)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Location: 400,000 sq. ft. facility | Romeoville, IL

Starting Pay: $21/hour – Raise upon hire by company

We are seeking skilled Production Assistants to support our CNC Tube Laser operations on 2nd shift. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a strong manufacturing background who are looking to grow their skills. No prior tube laser experience is required — training is provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate CNC tube laser equipment under guidance of leads and operators
• Set up machinery and ensure production meets quality standards
• Read and interpret work orders and blueprints
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, measuring tape, and angle finders (millimeter measurements)
• Load and unload raw materials using overhead cranes
• Lift, package, and move finished products
• Perform light machine maintenance as directed
• Maintain accurate ERP records
• Communicate effectively during shift handoffs
• Report equipment or production issues promptly

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma required; technical training or Associate’s degree preferred
• 2–5 years of manufacturing or production experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in machine setup and troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Comfortable using calipers, tape measures, and angle finders (millimeter-based measurements)
• Solid understanding of shop math (trigonometry a plus)
• Experience in cutting, laser, or fabrication environments is a plus but not required
• English comprehension required for safety and communication
• Spanish-speaking resources available onsite
• This is a skilled role – not general labor

Work Conditions

• Physically demanding: standing, bending, lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Exposure to noise, vibration, and varying temperatures
• PPE provided: high-visibility vest, steel-toe boots with metatarsal guards, prescription safety glasses
• Locker rooms and company-paid uniforms provided upon hire
• No cell phones allowed on the shop floor

Pre-Employment Requirements

• 4-panel rapid drug test (No THC for pre-employment; tested post-accident)
• 7-year, all-county criminal background check
• Must wear steel-toe boots with metatarsal guards
