Inventory & Shipping Clerk

Position Summary:

The Inventory & Shipping Clerk supports material control, purchasing, handling, shipping, and receiving within the production department. This role ensures goods and services meet customer requirements for quality, quantity, and timeliness.


Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

  • Receive materials from inspection and external sources; process into inventory.
  • Prepare materials for work orders and maintain procedural controls.
  • Restock excess materials from work orders and pass-throughs.
  • Complete all required ERP system transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and accuracy of stockroom and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Execute cycle count programs and perform physical inventories.
  • Establish and maintain warehouse location systems.
  • Assist in other related tasks as needed.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Receive materials from various sources and route to inspection.
  • Prepare shipping documentation and ship products per customer requirements.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments (counting, weighing, measuring, etc.).
  • Coordinate with domestic and international carriers for timely shipments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP order entry systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years in a manufacturing logistics role.
  • Experience with ERP systems, BOM creation/maintenance, warehouse operations, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Capable of handling varied tasks on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and use hands/arms for routine tasks.
  • Normal vision and hearing required.
  • Effective communication in person and in writing.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Primarily works in packaging and warehouse environments.

  • Accuracy and completeness of shipments and documentation.
  • On-time delivery performance.
  • Adherence to company standards.
  • Cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Cost management of supplies and consumables.
