General Responsibilities of a Sorter:

• Inspect precision-machined parts using microscopes, gauges, and measuring equipment.
• Identify defects and verify parts meet blueprint and quality specifications.
• Label, contain, and route production lots accurately throughout the manufacturing process.
• Submit samples for approval prior to completing production runs.
• Communicate quality concerns and production status with supervisors and other departments.
• Maintain accurate records and follow all quality and safety procedures.

Ideal Background for a Sorter:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects in small components.
• Comfortable performing repetitive inspection tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
• Computer proficient with basic keyboarding and data entry skills.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and work while sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and using a microscope for extended periods.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support team goals.
