Job Title: CLAMP Forklift Driver
Pay Rate: $19.00/hr
Location: Chicago IL, near 95th Street
Shift/Schedule: Mon-Fri 10am-6:30pm
**Interview also required by manager at job site
Summary / Primary Role:
The position of Clamp Forklift Driver will primarily be responsible for material handling specific to customer and internal order processing by handling large rolls of paper weighing between 2,000-5,500 lbs., unload rail containers, and load trailers for outbound shipments.
Qualifications, Education & Key Skills:
High school diploma, or GED
Minimum 1 year of experience operating a CLAMP forklift, preferably in a paper or heavy materials environment.
Ability to safely handle loads up to 5,500 lbs.
Familiar with warehouse operations & inventory systems.
Strong attention to detail & commitment to safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Essential Functions:
**(Management may amend or assign duties & responsibilities at any time)
Responsible for material handling including receive/scan truckloads/railcars and put away in locations. Pick/Scan orders and Load materials to truckload/railcar.
Maintain 100% inventory integrity. Accurately record and submit product locations. Record and submit location changes.
Accurately follow all SOPs, documents, and procedures as required.
Load trailers for outbound shipments according to load plans and customer requirements.
Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment & report mechanical issues.
Assist in staging & organizing product for efficient loading/unloading.
Maintain accurate records of product movement using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems.
Perform routine housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
Support inventory control efforts by participating in cycle counts and physical inventories.
Communicate effectively with supervisors & team to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
Follow all OSHA & company safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage & safe driving.
Identify & report damaged product or packaging & assist in rework or disposal as needed.
Assist with wrapping, labeling, and preparing rolls for shipment when required.
Participate in cross-training to support other warehouse functions as needed.
Maintain a safe, clean work environment including cleaning, maintaining Forklift and Clamp equipment.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AND PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED.
Work Environment:
Working indoors & outdoors. Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms, talk & hear. Required to bend, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl for extended periods. Able to lift and move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision.
