Job Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Wood Products Finisher for a premier custom architectural millwork company. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship and have a keen eye for detail. The Finisher will be responsible for preparing, staining, sealing, and applying final finishes to high-end custom wood products used in architectural applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Sand, fill, and smooth wood surfaces to prepare them for finishing.
- Staining & Coating: Apply stains, sealers, paints, and clear coats using spray guns, brushes, and wiping techniques.
- Custom Color Matching: Mix and match stains and finishes to achieve custom colors as per project specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for consistency, defects, and overall quality before approval.
- Equipment & Material Handling: Maintain and clean finishing tools, spray booths, and workspaces; properly handle and store finishing materials and chemicals.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other production team members to ensure workflow efficiency and on-time project completion.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in wood finishing, preferably in architectural millwork, cabinetry, or furniture is preferred.
- Proficiency in using spray equipment, sanders, and hand-finishing tools.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to match colors and achieve high-quality finishes.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and handling of finishing materials per industry standards.
