Job Full Description
Mixer Operator (1st Shift)
Pay: $19.00/hr
Shift: 7AM-3:30PM Monday-Friday. OT as Needed
Summary: Properly and safely operates and maintains both bulk product mixing system and bulk product transferring systems to meet or exceed plant and company specifications.
Our goal is to build a good product with an emphasis on quality, safety and regulatory compliance and legality.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
- Safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality provides proper ingredient mixes and weights to production lines to include standard and specialty mixes.
- Maintains neat and accurate documentation of products, ingredients received from grain suppliers, and any other issues that might affect production. Documentation is to be kept current both in writing and on the computer system.
- Notifies proper personnel of any equipment issues, product discrepancies, personnel issues or any other situations that may cause an adverse effect on meeting plant and company expectations and deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned
- Works directly to assure accuracy of Mixing system by Auger checks
- Participates in bulk inventory procedures
Food Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure that all ingredients appear to be free from contamination
- Ensure that the scales used have been calibrated each morning
- Ensure the proper specifications are met with each product
- Verify that all records are updated on the server and all documents are complete
Secondary Functions:
- Safely operates forklift and other production machinery
- Assists unit manager or operations manager with other special projects as assigned
- Maintains clean and organized control room
- Maintains testing equipment as required
Job Characteristics:
- Job is performed in a production setting – can be very dusty, and subject to the outdoor climate seasonally
- Job requires physical activity, including bending, climbing, walking, standing, stooping, grasping, reaching, repetitive motions of hands and wrists, etc.
- Job requires ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 55 pounds at a time
- Job requires overtime, and reduced hours when necessary, depending on production schedule
- Job is approximately 30% physical labor

Required Educational Background/Training:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Some experience or training in the grain industry is preferred
- 1-2 years grain product handling preferred.
