Human Resources Generalist (Part-Time)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Human Resources Generalist to support our distribution center operations. This part-time role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and ensuring HR policy compliance within a fast-paced logistics environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple HR functions with minimal supervision.

 

Location: Olathe, KS
Employment Type: Part-time (6-month contract)
Work Conditions: Office / Distribution Center Environment
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 12:00pm – 5:00pm


Position Summary:
The HR Generalist supports the daily human resource operations of the distribution center by executing core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. This role plays a key part in maintaining a positive and productive work environment and supporting business goals through effective people management.


Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes for hourly and salaried positions.

  • Partner with operations to identify staffing needs and ensure smooth new hire integration.

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, handling concerns with professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Support supervisors in coaching and performance management initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc.).

  • Maintain accurate employee records and assist with HR audits as needed.

  • Promote a positive workplace culture through communication and engagement efforts.

  • Track and report HR metrics, including attendance, turnover, and employee engagement.

  • Support policy administration and training programs.

  • Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

  • 3+ years of HR experience, ideally in distribution, manufacturing, or logistics.

  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion.


Preferred Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

  • Experience with Kronos and/or Workday systems preferred.
