Mechanical Equipment Builder

We are seeking a highly skilled and mechanically inclined Hydro-Mechanical Equipment Builder to join a precision manufacturing team in Lenexa, KS. This is NOT a repetitive production assembly role. We are looking for candidates with strong mechanical backgrounds who can independently build and integrate hydraulic and mechanical systems on custom industrial equipment while working with high-value components and tight tolerances.

This position is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in heavy equipment mechanics, industrial machinery, diesel equipment, agricultural equipment, hydraulic systems, or custom machinery builds.

Position Summary:

The Hydro-Mechanical Equipment Builder will independently assemble, fit, troubleshoot, and integrate hydraulic and mechanical systems used in custom industrial equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, precision fitment, blueprint reading, and hydraulic integration.

Candidates must be mechanically sharp, detail-oriented, and capable of working carefully around expensive equipment and precision components.


Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently build and integrate hydraulic and mechanical systems from blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Assemble custom industrial equipment using hydraulic cylinders, valves, pumps, fittings, hoses, bearings, and mechanical components
  • Perform precision fitment, alignment, and troubleshooting during equipment builds
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, BOMs, and assembly instructions
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical fitment or alignment issues independently
  • Install and route hydraulic lines and components accurately
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring tools, hoists, cranes, and forklifts safely
  • Verify assemblies meet quality and safety standards before release
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of mechanical equipment build, machinery assembly, industrial maintenance, or hydraulic systems experience
  • Strong blueprint and schematic reading ability
  • Experience performing full mechanical builds independently
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and alignment issues with minimal supervision
  • Experience working carefully with high-value precision components
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic
