Key Responsibilities
- Creating detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for electrical systems
- Conducting testing and evaluation of electrical equipment to ensure performance, safety, and reliability
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with electrical systems, components, and equipment
- Supervising or coordinating manufacturing, installation, and maintenance activities
- Performing calculations and using engineering software to design and optimize systems
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements
- Collaborating with project teams, technicians, and other engineers to implement solutions
- Estimating costs for materials, labor, and construction to support budgeting and project planning
Required Skills and Qualifications
Electrical engineers need a combination of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and practical experience:
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, circuit design, and system integration
- Proficiency with engineering software, design tools, and testing equipment
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills for complex electrical challenges attention to detail for precise calculations, testing, and documentation
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, with some roles preferring advanced degrees or professional certifications
