CNC Plate Burner Operator– Baton Rouge
FULL-TIME/LONG-TERM/EVALUATION HIRE
$16-$20/ Hr.
Hours: 6 am-2:30 pm; Monday through Friday, sometimes Saturdays
Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently seeking a reliable and hard-working CNC Plate Burner Operator for a local client in East Baton Rouge.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for CNC Plate Burner Operator:
- Operating a CNC plasma cutting machine for the fabrication of steel plates, loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and programming parameters.
- Inspect materials to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards before initiating the cutting process.
- Monitor the cutting process, inspect finished pieces for quality, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain precision and adherence to specifications.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- The ideal candidates should have and demonstrate the following capabilities:
Excellence in professionalism and maturity in all actions and communications with leadership and fellow employees.
- Must be able to work all required shift hours, overtime and weekends, as needed, Ability to lift 25 lbs.. unassisted, repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- MUST be able to read Structural Steel Detail Drawings
- Must be able to lay out, cut, and cope miters and degrees on pipe and angle handrails
- Must be able to cut, punch, and bend ladders from detailed drawings
- Must have experience on all hardware machines such as the ironworker, pipe bender, pipe copper, and punch press
- Read and write English and perform math calculations including fractions and decimals
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
- Participates in other duties as assigned by supervisor
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Must be 21+ years of age
- 5+ Years of experience in machine operation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop
- Heavy Lifting may be required.
