Manual Machinist

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join a well-established machine shop in the Jefferson Parish area. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work and has hands-on experience operating manual machining equipment.
Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
-
Machine metal parts to precise tolerances
-
Perform measuring and inspection using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
-
Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for materials
-
Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
Qualifications
-
Experience operating manual lathes and mills
-
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
-
Strong understanding of machining tolerances and measurements
-
Experience with precision measuring tools

Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred (But Not Required)

Experience with engine lathes, Bridgeport mills, or similar equipment
-
Background in repair machining, custom fabrication, or job shop work

Experience working with steel, aluminum, or specialty alloys
