Our Metairie office is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist for a well-established company in Harahan, LA. This is a comprehensive accounting role that requires a blend of financial expertise, credit management, and administrative support.
Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $21 – $24 / Hour (Depending on Experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: Harahan, LA (Local travel may be involved)
Key Responsibilities

Credit & Collections: Evaluate customer creditworthiness, set up new accounts, and manage collections to ensure timely invoice payments.

Deduction Management: Review and approve customer deductions, investigate discrepancies, and work with clients to minimize future occurrences.

Accounting Duties: Process cash receipts, perform general ledger entries, conduct reconciliations, and handle bank transfers for AP and Payroll.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Department to maintain accurate customer agreements and prepare monthly commission reports.

Departmental Support: Act as the primary backup for critical Accounts Payable tasks and provide administrative support to other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Accounting Experience: 2–3 years of accounting experience, ideally within the food manufacturing industry.

Specialized Experience: At least 2 years of experience in customer credit and collections.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems (SAGE experience is highly preferred).

Physical: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, and use hands/fingers for data entry. Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
