Our Metairie office is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a long-term, full-time position in Belle Chasse, LA. We are looking for a technician who is an expert at diagnosing complex faults and ensuring industrial machinery operates at peak efficiency.

Pay Rate: $27.00 / Hour (Depending on Experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Use computerized test equipment and calibration devices to diagnose faults and malfunctions.

Mechanical Repair: Repair and replace damaged or worn parts; dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.

Systems Maintenance: Adjust, maintain, and repair subassemblies including transmissions, hydraulic systems, and fuel systems.

Electrical & Welding: Troubleshoot and rewire electrical systems; weld or solder broken parts and structural members using electric or gas welders.

Diesel Engines: Install, maintain, and repair industrial diesel engines.

Testing: Overhaul and test machines after repair to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and operating efficiency.

Technical Literacy: Read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Position Requirements

Technical Expertise: Proven experience in heavy equipment repair, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting.

Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, jacks, cranes, and diagnostic software.

Physical Ability: Must be able to perform essential functions of the role, including lifting and maneuvering heavy components (reasonable accommodations may be made).
