Job Full Description
Shear Machine Operator - Weekend Shift
Location: Nashua, NH
Starting Salary: $23.50 per hour (train on 1st shift at $21 per hour)
Hours: 7am to 7pm (12 hours) Friday, Saturday and Sunday
This is a full time, temp to perm position
Responsibilities:
- Operate an Anglemaster machine to punch, drill, shear, and mark steel material
- Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and basic blueprints
- Measure materials accurately using tape measures, calipers, and gauges
- Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, fractions) to verify dimensions
- Program or set up machine as needed
- Punch first piece part and inspect per inspection sheet
- Perform in-process quality checks
- Operates multiple machines as required to meet production goals
- Operate all equipment in a safe, efficient manner while wearing all required PPE
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Be able to properly use measuring instruments such as tape measure, calipers, etc.
- Strong basic math skills and ability to read measurements accurately
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience (steel or fabrication preferred)
- Prior machine operation experience; CNC or automated equipment experience a plus
