Job Full Description
Job Summary
A Shipper in a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) operation is responsible for preparing, processing, and shipping customer orders accurately and efficiently. This role ensures products are packaged correctly, shipping documentation is completed, and outbound freight meets customer and carrier requirements while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Verify product quantities, labels, and shipment accuracy.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operate warehouse equipment such (pallet jacks).
- Prepare shipping documents, bills of lading, and carrier paperwork.
- Use warehouse management systems (we use Oracle prior experience is preferred but not required.)
- Coordinate with warehouse staff, carriers, and supervisors to meet shipping deadlines.
- Inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies before dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse or shipping experience preferred.
- Basic computer and inventory system knowledge.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift experience
